lonely wading through the destruction of space

Numbers

The numbers like to whisper
The numbers like to tease
The numbers like to shout and laugh
But never like to ease.
Unless of course we're counting,
My best friend Em and I,
We like to count how many times
The lone arachnids die.
And when the setting sun is done
And the moon is on the rise
That's when the fun, the real fun
Begins our deaths' Surmise.
We laughed and then we whispered
Saw the Ocean and we gasped
The boy friend came to join us;
The Lilies didn't last.
The sailors waved hello to us,
Their tandems all in two
While we three kids waved back to them
And they waved back-- to you.
